The Last Wipe ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Maigent Inc., an Ohio corporation. We operate the websites www.thelastwipe.com and honorroll.thelastwipe.com. Our online store shop.thelastwipe.com is hosted by Shopify and is governed by a separate Privacy Policy published on that store, which controls with respect to information collected through the store and checkout. This Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you. By using our sites, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy.
1. Personal Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact details: name and email when you use the contact form or subscribe to notifications.
- Communications: the subject and content of any message you send us.
- Honor Roll submissions: sender name (or pseudonym), recipient name, and recipient city/state/ZIP — submitted via a tokenized link tied to an order. We do not collect or publish recipient street addresses, narrative accusations, or descriptions of alleged misconduct.
- Email opt-ins: if you subscribe to product, restock, or preorder notifications, your email address.
- Order information (via Shopify): if you make a purchase at shop.thelastwipe.com, name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and payment details are collected by Shopify and shared with us to fulfill the order. See the store's separate Privacy Policy.
Information collected automatically
- Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
- Usage information: pages viewed, time on site, referrer, approximate geographic location derived from IP.
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Hostinger) logs request timestamps, IP addresses, and user agents for security and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 5.
Information about third parties (Honor Roll recipients)
When a customer submits an Honor Roll entry, the recipient named in that entry is a third party from whom we have not directly collected information. The categories collected about recipients are limited to: name and city/state/ZIP as provided by the sender. We do not knowingly collect any further information about recipients.
2. Sources of Personal Information
- Directly from you when you contact us, subscribe, submit an Honor Roll entry, or place an order.
- Automatically through your interaction with our sites, including via cookies and server logs.
- From service providers who process information on our behalf (Shopify, Google, Hostinger, our fulfillment partner).
- From a sender about a third-party recipient in the case of Honor Roll submissions.
3. How We Use Personal Information
- Provide and operate the sites, respond to your inquiries, and send transactional emails.
- Process orders, arrange shipping, and handle returns or exchanges (through Shopify and our fulfillment partner).
- Operate the Honor Roll public ledger by displaying the limited information described above.
- Send marketing and restock communications you have opted into. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other unlawful or harmful activity.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to legal process, including subpoenas, court orders, and lawful requests from government authorities.
- Improve the sites and product offering.
4. How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described above:
- Shopify — e-commerce platform, checkout, and payment processing for the online store.
- Google Workspace / Gmail — outbound transactional and contact-form email delivery.
- Google Analytics — aggregated and pseudonymized usage analytics.
- REZ Preorder, Back In Stock — Shopify apps for preorder and restock notifications.
- Hostinger — web hosting and server logs for the main site and honorroll subdomain.
- Our 3PL fulfillment partner in Los Angeles, California — order pick, pack, and ship.

- Public disclosure on the Honor Roll ledger — the limited submission information described in Section 1 is published on honorroll.thelastwipe.com and is publicly accessible.

- Business transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy.
We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on how broadly your state defines "sale" or "share" (for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA), certain uses of cookies and analytics for cross-context advertising could be treated as a "share." You may opt out of such uses at any time using the link in Section 6, by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or by contacting us.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, analytics, abuse prevention, and (on the store subdomain) checkout and personalization. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the sites may not function correctly. We honor the Global Privacy Control opt-out preference signal where it is enabled. We do not recognize other "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Honor Roll Submissions and Third-Party Data
This section describes our handling of information about third-party recipients of Honor Roll submissions.
- What is collected: sender name (or pseudonym), recipient name, recipient city, state, and ZIP code. We do not collect, request, or display recipient street addresses, contact information, alleged conduct, narratives, accusations, or professional categories.
- Source: information about a third-party recipient is provided to us by a sender who has purchased a product from The Last Wipe. We do not verify the truth, accuracy, or completeness of recipient information submitted by senders.
- Purpose and legal basis: we publish the Honor Roll ledger as expressive content protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and equivalent free-expression protections in other jurisdictions, and (where applicable under the GDPR) on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a satirical commentary platform on broken oaths, contracts, and agreements.
- Notice to recipients (GDPR Article 14): if you are a recipient whose name appears on the Honor Roll and you reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comparable rights, you may contact us using the details in Section 12 to exercise your rights with respect to the information published about you. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, or request removal of your entry, and to object to its continued publication.
- Moderation and removal: we reserve the right to remove any Honor Roll entry at our discretion, including for misuse, abuse, suspected impersonation, harassment, or credible third-party complaint. Removal does not constitute an admission as to the validity of any claim.
- Retention: Honor Roll entries remain published until removed by us or until we receive and verify a valid removal request from the sender or the named recipient.
- Section 230 acknowledgment: The Last Wipe is an interactive computer service for purposes of 47 U.S.C. § 230. Senders are responsible for the information they submit.
- No claim of misconduct: The publication of a recipient's name on the Honor Roll reflects only that a sender chose to mail a product to that recipient. It is not, and should not be construed as, a statement by The Last Wipe that the named recipient has broken any oath, breached any contract, committed any wrongdoing, or engaged in any misconduct of any kind. The Honor Roll is a record of mailings, not an accusation.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions or verification under applicable law.

10. International Transfers
The Last Wipe operates from the United States. If you access the sites from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, which may have data-protection rules different from those in your country. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent. The Honor Roll ledger is publicly accessible globally and information published there will be visible internationally.

The sites are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The online store is for users 18 and over. As of the effective date of this Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
